US is Preparing a New Attack in Syria
Russia is concerned about Washington's warlike rhetoric on Syria and warns the partners against irresponsible actions. This statement was made today by the Foreign Ministry. It's about trying to blame Damascus for preparing a chemical attack against civilians. The suspicions, as they say at the State Department, are based on the secret intelligence data. And again, they offer the world community to believe their word.
In Damascus, all this is called preparation for the battle, which the US is setting up against Assad. The report of our military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny. The Americans again accuse the official Damascus of intentions to use chemical weapons and again aren't planning to present any proof. They claim that at the Shayrat Airbase in the Homs Governorate, there are actions that indicate the Syrian military are preparing for the use of chemical warfare agents.
And officials in Washington don’t care that it looks like preparation of the public for a new unlawful attack against a sovereign state. It has happened too often that the phrase "weapons of mass destruction" was used as an excuse by the US in the context of the Middle East.
And later, it turned out that the reason, to put it mildly, was factitious. In early April 2017, the US Navy had already struck at the Shayrat Airbase. Back then, the sea-launched cruise missiles attacked the airbase near Homs. Our film crew came there just a few hours after the blow. There were no combat chemical agents at the airbase.
Although social networks actively supported the message that the Syrian military stored chemical weapons in these containers. Here is a fragment of the material of our film crew. In social networks, many users have managed to claim that these containers are used to store chemical weapons. They say that the Syrian military store chemical warfare agents at the Shayrat Airbase. That is why the US military attacked the airfield with cruise missiles.
In fact, these are standard container front blocks. Here is the marking: B-K-F. They are transported in an air tank, 8 pieces in one, which is attached to pylons of aircraft and helicopters and used to drop bombs and mines. These containers are related to chemical weapons the same way as the test tube in the hands of Mr. Powell to the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which were never found, but the country was destroyed. Here, it’s worth reminding that the reason for the attack at Shayrat wasn't these containers. The image of them, as an evidence, began to be discussed by the Western media after it became clear that the attack was ineffective.
The incident in Syrian Khan Shaykhun allegedly prompted President Trump to order the strike at the airbase. April 4, the US media reported that the governmental forces used gas to attack, quote, "rebels in the Idlib Governorate." As a result, 86 people were killed. Back then, it wasn't important that Khan Shaykhun was controlled by terrorists of the former Al-Qaeda branch, and the source of information was questionable. Allegedly, the militants filmed the consequences of the attack themselves. And sarin was used as a chemical warfare agent.
The rescuers had no means of protection. They would have become victims themselves if this gas had been actually used. There was no investigation in Khan Shaykhun. That is, the reason for the strike was found in the data, which, in fact, was provided by the militants of a world-recognized terrorist group.
