The main event in the world last week was the change of power in America. The president of the USA is now Donald Trump. Having taken the oath, he began his first presidential speech with an expression of gratitude.

The first part of the first sentence was standard, an expression of gratitude to the judge and predecessors. Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans, and people of the world, thank you. The ending of the first sentence was unusual. People of the world, thank you! Russian President Vladimir Putin, who must have watched this speech, probably replied out loud: "You are welcome." Or even in English: "My pleasure." And I must say, that he had reasons to do so. First, because there probably was no other nation in the world, which would be as interested as Russia, watching Trump in the presidential race. We were not just watching him, but watching him with kind intentions.

The majority even supported Trump as he was the only candidate in the United States, who spoke in favor of improving relations with Russia. Second, Putin was personally waiting for all the garbage in the relations with the United States to end. A different choice by Americans would mean hopelessness. Now, there is a chance of improvement.

President Trump began the gala ball on the occasion of his inauguration with a dance with the first lady Melania to the timeless tune of Frank Sinatra, My Way. It was a very American selection. Frank Sinatra is unequivocally recognized as the best voice of America in the 20th century. And it was a very Trump-like choice indeed, like a symbol of the fact that he will go his own way. Of course, it was a moment of triumph for Trump and all those who support him.

As for Americans, for them what has happened is a deeply tragic moment because the country is split. Exactly fifty-fifty. There has probably been no bigger division in American society in its history since the American Civil War, and this was in the 19th century. In Russia, we know what a split means, and we have experienced its destructive force not just once. 1917 was fatal for Russia. We do not want 2017 to become fatal for the United States. 2011 and 2012 are fresh examples in our recent history, white ribbon protesters and Bolotnaya Square.

Back then, the ratio of the split was 98 to 2 per cent, and even that was an unpleasant story. Right now, America is split exactly in half, fifty-fifty, and it is even much deeper and irreconcilable than it was in Russia five years ago. Against Trump are Hollywood actors, most of the media, influential forces in the security services, and even the Evangelical Church. In the episcopate, there was a debate whether to bless Trump for power.

Apart from an unconfirmed connection with Russian hackers, there are two main arguments against Trump. First, he treats women bad. But, as it turned out, there is nothing criminal behind him. Trump publicly apologized for his momentary impulsive impoliteness. The second argument is that Trump is a racist. This is also an unfounded assumption. His team is diverse, and in his main inaugural speech Trump brilliantly identified his priority.

It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget. Whether we are black, or brown, or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots. Trump is reminded about his categorical statements against Muslims, but they do not see how he clarifies his position. And that is how it was in his inaugural speech. We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones to unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will irradiate completely from the face of the earth. As we say, Trump is a real man. Yes, it was the first day of his presidency when he removed the section on the protection of the rights of gays and lesbians from the official website of the White House. He never pledged to support them in the first place. He has always stood for traditional family values and against gay marriage.

Exactly with this position, the American people elected him as their president. By the way, same-sex marriage is a controversial topic not just in America, but in Europe as well. It is certainly not a priority on the agenda, he should deal with another priority, if nobody takes a shot at him first.
