The government banned terrorist organization, ISIS, has declared the Iraqi city of Tal-Afar, independent. ISIS leaders have threatened repercussions to all who do not accept their authority. Tal-Afar's located only 50km away from Mosul, the freeing of which was reported earlier this week. The city lies in ruins as the UN and human rights organizations declare a humanitarian crisis. Here's Matvei Popov with the details.

The fate of Mosul is suddenly of great concern to London’s humanitarian organizations, specifically Airwars. The headlines speak for themselves. The Coalition freed Mosul, though 5 times worse than when Russian forces freed Aleppo. The results are horrid. Civilians continued to perish every day up to the very end of the operation, at the hands of the so-called "coalition." More than 700 dead in June alone, as reported by Airwars.

At the moment, reports from the field are positive. The city is supposedly coming back to life. This is hard to imagine, as not a single intact building remains in the entire city. Mosul, formerly the 2nd largest city in Iraq, has been bombed into the Stone Age. The justification for this level of force is not obvious, as it is clear that ISIS (banned in Russia) was already drawing its last breath in Mosul.

SPUTNIK ARABIC published a unique document on ISIS salaries. Unmarried fighters received 95,000 Dinar, or 72 US dollars. Most of the salary was given to the fighters in the form of basic food supplies. Jihadists bearing many children could count on a higher salary of 200-250 USD. This said, none were eligible to receive 300USD or more. It is clear that there were few volunteers willing to die for such a sum. How much Mosul can be considered free and safe is up for debate.

State television is publishing recordings of packs of semi-nude men surrendering to Shi'ite forces. But other recordings show militants emerging from underground tunnels and calmly leaving otherwise cordoned-off neighborhoods. And then, as if nothing had happened, they appear in terrorist propaganda videos, which were organized by dug-in Islamists in Mosul. These particular recordings are very fresh. In other words, the operation to free the city, which has gone on since last Autumn, despite causing mass death and destruction, has not made this city safe. Matvei Popov, Vesti.
