Михаил Голиков родился в 1980 году в Ленинграде. Окончил Санкт-Петербургскую государственную консерваторию им. Н. А. Римского-Корсакова по специальностям: "Хоровое дирижирование" (2003 год, класс профессора С. Н. Легкова) и "Оперно-симфоническое дирижирование" (2009 год, класс профессора В. С. Синайского).

В 2003 году преподавал вокал и хоровое пение в балетной школе Мориса Бежара (Лозанна, Швейцария). С 2004 года активно сотрудничает с филармоническими оркестрами Тамбова, Петрозаводска, является главным приглашенным дирижёром Губернаторского симфонического оркестра Иркутской филармонии. С 2009 года — художественный руководитель и главный дирижёр симфонического оркестра Санкт-Петербургской государственной филармонии для детей и юношества. В 2018 году возглавил Филармонию для детей и юношества. С 2009 года — художественный руководитель и главный дирижёр Международного симфонического оркестра "Таврический" (Капелла "Таврическая"), который ведёт активную концертную деятельность в России и за рубежом. Вместе с коллективом даёт концерты в самых престижных залах Австрии, Германии, Испании, Италии, Нидерландов, России, Франции, Китая.

В июле 2017 года возглавил вновь образованный Государственный симфонический оркестр Ленинградской области. В июле 2020 года основал сообщество единомышленников и новую оркестровую формацию Digital Orchestra by Golikov, объединившую лучших музыкантов Москвы и Санкт-Петербурга. Официальной премьерой проекта Digital Orchestra by Golikov стали показы всех 9 симфоний Людвига ван Бетховена в рамках международного онлайн-фестиваля Classic@Home-BEE250VEN, приуроченного к 250-летию композитора.

В 2023 году Михаил Голиков стал приглашённым профессором Китайской музыкальной консерватории. Он провёл мастер-классы и выступил с Симфоническим оркестром консерватории. В октябре 2023 года Международная медиасеть TV BRICS объявила об учреждении международного симфонического оркестра TVBRICS. В него войдут лучшие музыканты из России, Китая и других стран БРИКС. Художественным руководителем и главным дирижёром оркестра стал Михаил Голиков.

Mikhail Golikov is the artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Region. He arranges various educational programs and master classes in Russia and abroad and actively promotes classical music among children and youth.

Mikhail Golikov was born in 1980 in Leningrad. He graduated from the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory with a degree in choral conducting (2003, class of Professor S.N. Legkov) and opera-symphonic conducting (2009, class of Professor V.S. Sinaisky).

In 2003, he taught vocals and choral singing at the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, the ballet school of Maurice Bejart (Lausanne, Switzerland). Since 2004, he has been actively collaborating with the philharmonic orchestras of Tambov and Petrozavodsk, and he is the main guest conductor of the Governor's Symphony Orchestra of the Irkutsk Philharmonic. Since 2009, he has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the symphony orchestra of the Saint Petersburg State Philharmonic for Children and Youth. In 2018, he headed the Philharmonic for Children and Youth. Since 2009, he has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the Tauride International Symphony Orchestra (The Tauride Capella), which conducts active concert activity in Russia and abroad. Together with the orchestra, he gives concerts in the most prestigious halls in Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, France, and China.

In July 2017, he headed the newly formed State Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Region. In July 2020, he founded a community of associates and a new orchestral formation called the Digital Orchestra by Golikov, which united the best musicians of Moscow and St. Petersburg. The official premiere of the Digital Orchestra by Golikov project was the performance of all 9 symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven as part of the international online festival Classic@Home-BEE250VEN, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the composer.

In 2023, Mikhail Golikov became a visiting professor at the Chinese Conservatory of Music. He conducted master classes and performed with the Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. In October 2023, the International Media Network TV BRICS announced the establishment of the international symphony orchestra TVBRICS that would include the best musicians from Russia, China and other BRICS countries. Mikhail Golikov became the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra.
