"Leader of Russia" Contest Winners Enter Prestigious Civil Servant Reserve Corps


The winners of the "Leaders of Russia" contest will join the Federal High-Potential Personnel Reserve and become sought-after civil servants. Today, Vladimir Putin met with the young and promising managers who won the major contest that was held in several Russian regions. The President asked them to share their thoughts and tell him about the most difficult challenges they had to accomplish. They reached the finish line and started a new life.

Each one of them is an embodiment of the Russian upward mobility. Today, the winners of the Leaders of Russia contest met Putin in the Kremlin who shared his view of their future prospects. During this year, the winners will learn from distinguished mentors: Lavrov, Sobyanin, Kiriyenko Kuzminov, Mau and many others.
Vladimir Putin: "Let me give you a piece of advice. They are busy people. Don't wait — demand. Deal. Otherwise, you'll never get what you want. Thanks. Now, they'll speed up a bit. I've said it for that particular reason".
No workplaces were promised within the framework of the contest but it's clear that the winners will be in high demand.
Vladimir Putin: "Many of you have already been requested and even demanded by some of our colleagues."
Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin promised to make one of the winners his deputy. Now, he's selecting the candidate.
Vladimir Putin: How old are you?
Sergey Ludin, winner: 36.
Vladimir Putin: Well, you speak the same language with Oreshkin.
Sergey Ludin, winner: That's true. He asked me why I had chosen him. "Mr. Oreshkin, you're so young and promising," I told him. "Just like you," he said."
Young managers from across the country took part in the contest. The organizers expected twelve to fifteen thousand applicants but there were almost two hundred thousand. Many of them were accomplished people some had PhDs but they felt they were strong enough to change their universities and companies which means changing the country. And they are.
Evgeny Pokushalov managed to earn a State Award in Science and Technology. Together with his colleagues, he invented and adopted a new concept of lowering the prevalence and mortality rates among the patients with heart rhythm issues.

Vladimir Putin: "One should never lose their professional edge. That's why we have a program that will help young mothers get back to work as soon as possible".
Tatiana Diakonova, winner: I believe a woman's top priorities are giving birth and raising children and then she can serve her Motherland.
Vladimir Putin: Well, the former also means serving your Motherland.

Another winner: "I've got six kids. The elder son lives in Novosibirsk".
The future Leaders of Russia are studying in the Sirius Center in Sochi. It has all necessary facilities for the young scientists and athletes. But it will expand even more.
Vladimir Putin: You've mentioned Sirius. We'll build a school there. It lacks a good school. We'll build a nice school.

The winners of the contest received one million rubles. to increase their qualification. The Leaders of Russia project was a success. The contest will be held regularly.
