Russians, not Poles or Finns, Spilled Their Blood for Bulgaria - Reminds Patriarch Kirill in Sophia

The history of Bulgaria's freedom is encrypted in blood into Russia's history, has stated Patriarch Kirill. He met with President Rumen Radev during his visit to Bulgaria, which was freed from Ottoman oppression 140 years ago.
Having talked to the country's authorities, the Head of the Russian Orthodox Church has expressed his disappointment about the attempts to erode Russia's role in the battles for Bulgaria's freedom. He noted that neither Poland nor Finland hadn't made the decision on starting the war against Ottoman Turkey. Thus, it would be incorrect to call them liberators along with Russia.
Patriarch Kirill: "Poland and Finland don't have a page on freeing Bulgaria in their history. But, the story of freeing Bulgaria is written in blood in Russia's history. So, I'd really like this Sophia story to be excluded from Bulgaria's political lingo. No political correctness can justify historical misinterpretation. This is the main message that Patriarch would like to deliver to Bulgaria, its government, and its people. However, the best part is visiting the Shipka Pass. There, we didn't see Finnish flags, or Polish flags, or Romanian flags. We only saw the Russian and the Bulgarian flags there. Oh, how enthusiastic Bulgarian people were to welcome the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia at the Shipka Pass".
