Kiselev: West is Now Synonymous With Fake News and Witch Hunts and Manufactured Scandal

In the US, a multi-Oscar-winning filmmaker, Harvey Weinstein, has decided to surrender to the police, and has handed himself over to the police to hear another allegation of rape and sexual assault. This happened on Friday. A totally-exhausted Weinstein on the way to the police station was accompanied by a crowd of ravenous reporters, strapped in heavy cameras, and three helicopters following the victim from the sky.
It all began last fall when dozens of young and not so young Hollywood actresses one by one accused their idol of sexual harassment. The first and second rate stars became very well-toned in affirming their own starriness to point their fingers at Weinstein, as in, "and me, too". Who hasn't appeared in the angry company of the victims recently?: Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd, Kate Beckinsale, Rose McGowan, Rosanna Arquette, Cara Delevingne, Lea Seydoux, Heather Graham, Lucia Evans, Asia Argento.
Oh, then this was such a bombshell, that they talked about nothing else in Hollywood. Weinstein, who shot dozens of Oscar-winning films including, for example, "The English Patient," "Pulp Fiction", "Shakespeare in Love", "Chicago", "The Aviator", "The King's Speech", "Inglourious Basterds", "Django Unchained" – altogether 81 Oscar Awards, like no one else, has become a Hollywood outcast and a symbol of evil. And how could he possibly meet some actress in his hotel room, wearing only a robe, and one with a tied belt, so carelessly that, at some point, everything flung open?! And how deep is the trauma of the Hollywood diva at the sight of Weinstein sitting in a bubble bath? In short, the talk of such crimes did not stop. Not a single case, however, has ever come to court. But Harvey Weinstein still had a lot of tests to pass. For a start, he was deprived of work, and all his contracts were canceled. Then he got fired from his own production company, probably the most successful and productive of its kind in Hollywood. Next, he was almost forcibly sent to a clinic to undergo a grueling anti-sexual therapy course. Well, this is not exactly chemical castration, but it certainly comes near.
While the trial and court case – no, no, sorry, there was no trial, not even any cases. But, let's put it this way say, along the way, they began excluding Weinstein everywhere: from the British Film Academy, from the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, for life from the Guild of Producers of America, from the Directors Guild of America, from the American Television Academy and the British Film Institute. No trials or verdicts, but to be on the safe side, Weinstein was deprived of honorary doctorates, for example, from the University of New York. While this unfolds, no evidence has yet been brought to substantiate the charges. But, nevertheless, the deprivation of rewards seems inevitable. Theresa May is personally involved in the procedures of the recently-launched Order of the British Empire. Emmanuel Macron is personally involved in the Order of the Legion of Honor.
In short, they have pulverized the poor man into powder. To keep the story going, they have now decided to arrest him, just in case. Since the stellar charges from the bowels of the Hollywood judicial perspective failed to materialize, they went on and found something simpler. There are two charges of raping two unknown women. One of them – rape in the first degree. Given that this was aggravated. The second – rape in the third degree. Which, by American standards, is a lesser offense. In any case, both charges could mean a life sentence That is, if actually found guilty. The names of the victims are unknown. It's all under wraps.
Thus, Harvey Weinstein was formally indicted on Friday. But then, at his lawyer's appeal, he was released on a 1 million dollar bail. Although, the poor man was to wear a mandatory electronic bracelet or a similar tracking device. Weinstein was also deprived of his passport and denied the right to travel outside the US, forcing a written recognizance not to leave.
In a separate blow, Weinstein's wife, the famous fashion designer Georgina Chapman, left him, taking both of their two children with her. Saying, until the series of sexual scandals, she knew nothing about her husband's uncouth behavior. And that when this all started, she began losing orders from her clients. So with her husband and father of their children of five and seven years, she now had to part ways. Just as a precaution. And now, Georgina is being helped by a psychotherapist.
But what about Harvey Weinstein? It seems, he has already been "packed" away.
