GEORGE VATCHNADZE studied at Tbilisi Central Music School for Gifted Children, Tbilisi State Conservatory, the Mannes College of Music and Indiana University (South Bend).
He is a laureate of numerous International Piano Competitions including the 1994 Gina Bachauer Competition, the 1998 Palm Beach Invitational Competition, the 1996 International Alabama competition and the 1997 World Piano Competition.
He performed with the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Gianandrea Noseda, at the St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theater and London’s Covent Garden, he also performed at the Salzburg Festival, Maggio Musicale Festival, Stresa Festival, Ravenna Festival, Gilmore Festival, the Stanford Stravinsky Festival and others. George Vatchnadze also gave concerts in London’s Wigmore Hall, the Miller Theater in New York and the Strathmore Hall in Washington DC. Nowadays George Vatchnadze is an associate professor at the DePaul University School of Music (Chicago). He is also a founder and artistic director of the Villa Sandra International Piano Academy in Lesa (Lago Maggiore) in Italy.
