Maxim Fedotov  is a violinist and conductor, People’s Artist of Russia, professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, a winner of the most prestigious international violin competitions, such as the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Paganini Competition in Genoa, the Violinists’ International Competition in Tokyo and others.

Born to the family of Victor Fedotov, a prominent conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Received his music education at the St. Petersburg Special Music School and then at the Moscow Conservatory. His violin teachers were professors Boris Sergeyev, Dmitry Tsyganov and Igor Bezrodny. The basic conducting skills were taught by Vladislav Chernushenko at Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory.

Maxim Fedotov has toured in over fifty countries, reciting at the world most prestigious venues and performing with major orchestras led by outstanding conductors. Cooperates with Naxos, Classical Records, DML-Classic, Melodiya and other recording companies An important part of his performing and recording activities is a duo with the pianist Galina Petrova, Honored Artist of Russia.

Regularly appears as a conductor with such symphony orchestras as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the St. Petersburg Cappella and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the CRR Orchestra (Istanbul), the Korean Symphony Orchestra (Seoul), the Bohuslav Martinů Czech Philharmonic and others.

In  2006 – 2010 Maxim Fedotov led the Moscow Сity Symphony Orchestra Russian Philharmonic as the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor. Since 2006, collaborates with the St. Petersburg House of Music as a conductor and master-classes professor. Artistic Director of the Annual International Chamber Music Festival Musica Maxima in Zagreb since 2009.
