Samurai-Style Fireworks Mark the End of The Circle of Light Festival in Moscow

The Circle of Light Moscow Festival ended with a terrific Japanese pyrotechnic show. The stage for the fireworks performance was the Moscow River. The show involved charges created with the ancient Japanese technology, having no counterparts in the world. Marina Gromova is reporting on what else people will remember from the festival, incredible in its scope and beauty.
An incredible Japanese show Hanabi. Fireworks of handmade charges shone in a dance of light and fire. It's what is worth a thousand words. As the organizers promised, Moscow has never seen anything like this. The sky over Strogino creek lit by fireballs, disks, and hearts, which seemed to appear right from the water. The charges were launched from three barges. Hanabi in Japanese means "fire flower". Fireworks really resemble giant chrysanthemums.
In Japan, such shows are usually performed over the water for fireworks to reflect in the water, which is an incredible view.
Some watched with bated breath, others danced and applauded. Every firework volley was greeted with awes. A giant charge, 600 cm in diameter, flew into the Moscow sky to almost 1 km.
More light, water, fire and special effects. This year the Circle of Light festival surpassed all the previous ones. It seemed that there was nothing to surprise with, but Ostankino literally drowned in fireworks. Fireworks were launched directly from the TV tower, which turned into various skyscrapers of the world with the help of video projection. In an hour the spectators visited Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, New York. But this was not enough for the organizers either.
They froze the Ostankino pond. Olympic champions appeared on ice.
Elena Andreeva, project manager: "We used a mix that was not used anywhere, including living ice, living legends, figure skaters, laser, sound, pyrotechnic, video projection equipment».
Tsaritsyno showed water and flame, too. During the 5 evenings, the park plunged into darkness, with Catherine the Great's palace coming to life.
Every day, 20,000 people came to the Teatralnaya Square. This year, Bolshoi and Maly Theaters were turned into one huge screen. They were connected by a laser beam. The facades told a love story.
While 250,000 people gathered at the opening of the festival in Ostankino, the whole city seems to have come here, to Strogino, to say goodbye to the brightest event of the autumn. There are huge crowds of people!
It's already known that last year's record has been broken. More than 3.5 million people visited the 2017 Circle of Light festival.
