Ukraine has finally explained why it banned fairy tales about bogatyrs, published in Russia from being sold in Ukraine.
The decision became known in the beginning of December, but the reasons were revealed only now, half a month later.
It turned out that the experts of the State Committee on TV and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine consider the tales to be Russian propaganda. Judging by its published conclusions, Kiev fears that after reading such books, Ukrainians would want to improve the relations with Russia.
Ukraine will introduce fines for importing banned publications. This ban refers to two collected volumes: "Ilya of Murom and Solovei the Whistler-Robber" and "Russian Tales about Bogatyrs".
