Prisoner Swap But No New Year’s Truce - Ukrainian POWs Eagerly Await Chance to Go Home

60 Minutes — the most essential news.
- Donetsk is getting ready for the largest prisoner exchange. According to the recent information from the DNR, an ambulance is getting ready to hospitalize the former prisoners of the USS. Not all prisoners are going to be exchanged but at least the major part of the prisoners will celebrate New Year at home if the exchange that's to happen on December 27, which means this coming Wednesday, isn't disrupted. The news was already broken to the Ukrainian prisoners. Here's their reaction.
Ukrainian prisoners:
- My family, parents, wife, nephews, brother. I have relatives that are waiting for me.
- My parents and relatives are waiting for me at home. They write me sometimes. My co-workers are waiting for me as well.
- I think it could have been done more quickly and easily so there wouldn't have been so many casualties. It should have been stopped in 2014 when it all began.
Tatiana: Today, I heard it in the report by Rossiya 1. We are looking forward to seeing him exchanged. We'll have tears in our eyes when we meet him. We'll hug him tightly, with flowers and all that stuff. Just let him come home.
- This is Tatiana, the sister of a soldier that's being held captive by the USS. Soon, we'll have a live interview with her.
By the way, check out at the conditions the Ukrainian prisoners are held in. It's important to compare them this Wednesday with those with those who survived the USS.
The previous group looked horrible. They were hungry, beaten up, and tortured by the country that proclaimed today its commitment to the Christian values and urged all Christians to unite. For the first time in the modern history Ukraine is celebrating Christmas by the Gregorian calendar virtually together with Donald Trump.
Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine: "Saint Paul wrote: 'We are Christians. One body, one spirit, one God. one faith, and one christening.' Ukraine is uniquely tolerant and respects the feelings of all believers".
Oleksandr Turchynov, National Security and Defense Council: "It's supposed to unite us all. All Christians around the world, all people because Christ means love, goodness, truth, and unity. If we build on such foundation we'll have a true unity a sincere unity that'll last forever."
Klitschko brothers: "Hi guys! We wish You Merry Christmas and happy 2018. All the best from the Klitschko brothers!"
- Well, not just virtually together with Donald Trump, but using his language as well. We have absolutely no idea why the Klitschko brothers are suddenly greeting their compatriots in English.
