Биография

Ayyub Guliyev was born in 1984 in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2005 graduated from the Baku Music Academy, where he studied conducting with Yalchin Adigezalov, and continued his education at the Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory under A. Polishchuk and later at Vienna State University of Music and Fine Arts. He also passed training with Daniel Harding, Riccardo Capasso, Yuri Simonov, and Rauf Abdullayev.

Guliev has appeared on many world-famous stages such as Carnegie Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Grand Hall of the Saint-Petersburg State Philharmonie, Mariinski Concert Hall; has collaborated with such orchestras as Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio France Philharmonic, Wiener Kammerorchester, Toscanini Philharmonic, Azerbaijan State Symphony, St. Petersburg Symphony, Mariinsky Symphony orchestra, Kiev State Opera House (Ukraine), Belarus State Symphony Orchestra and Belarus Bolshoi Opera House and others.

In 2011 he headed the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2013 he became the principal guest conductor of the Safonov Academic Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia).

In 2006 Ayyub Guliyev won the First Prize and the Special Prize at the Lutoslawski Competition in Bialystok (Poland). In November 2008 he was awarded with the ‘Orchestra Preference Award’ at the Mitropoulos Competition in Athens. In 2010 Ayyub Guliev got the top prize (Giuseppe Sinopoli Award) at the Arturo Toscanini International Competition in Parma (Italy).
