Russia’s First President Receives Dedicated Bust: Moscow Unveils New Monument to Boris Yeltsin
The bust of Russia's first President, Boris Yeltsin was unveiled in Moscow today.

The bust of Russia's first President, Boris Yeltsin was unveiled in Moscow today.

The monument, created by Zurab Tsereteli, is set up on the so-called "Alley of Rulers". It was created on the initiative of Russia's Military Historical Society, in a garden on Petroverigsky Lane. The bust was unveiled to the sound of the national anthem. Russia's Minister of Culture and the late president's widow, Naina Yeltsina, were at the unveiling.

 

Naina Yeltsina, widow of Russia's First President, Boris Yeltsin: "I thank you all for coming here for the unveiling of the bust of the first President, Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin. I think that due to all of those reforms, to how the country began to rise, the foundation of our country's future success was laid during those hard years".
